What is the Sleeping Angels Fund?
The Sleeping Angels Fund is a non-profit fund, founded on February 20, 2002. It was inspired by our beloved son, Hunter James Martino, who lost his precious life to SIDS on September 15, 2001. The Sleeping Angels Fund helps families, touched by infant death, purchase grave markers/monuments to help memorialize their lost infant children.
What does the Sleeping Angels Fund provide?
The Sleeping Angels Fund provides grave markers/monuments for lost infant children, to families who cannot afford one. The stone includes inscriptions of the infant's name, full date of birth, full date of death and the SAF logo.
Who qualifies for assistance from the Sleeping Angels Fund?
Any infant, who has died, up to 3 years of age. Qualifications for assistance is based on financial situations and the need of each family. The infant must be buried in Pennsylvania, PA area. Any family selected would be the sole decision of the Sleeping Angels Fund.
Does my infant have to have died of SIDS to qualify?
No, any infant that has died is a lost Angel and deserves to be remembered. Any gender, race, religion or cause of death can qualify for a stone from the Sleeping Angels Fund.
Why does the SAF logo appear on the stone?
This is to show confirmation that the Sleeping Angels Fund has purchased the stone, for the family.
Are there any costs to the family, for the stone?
Sometimes, the Sleeping Angels Fund provides a memorial for an infant. This includes inscriptions of the infant's name, full date of birth, full date of death and the SAF logo. The only time there are any costs to the family, for the stone, is when the family requests additional inscriptions such as any additional wording, names, dates, or pictures.
My family can not afford the balance due on the stone we purchased. Can SAF help us?
Yes, the Sleeping Angels Fund can also provide a grant to pay off the balances due on a family's stone.
How does the Sleeping Angels Fund operate?
The Sleeping Angels Fund operates on Donations. The majority of funds collected is generated from Fundraisers.
